It’s never too late for love! Hathaway House intimate family wedding.
“God put us together”, said Juanita. “I met George at church and are madly in love!” With just a few weeks of planning, Juanita Brittian and George Downey were married in a double ring ceremony at Northwest Baptist Church, by Dr. Andrew Edwards III, senior pastor. They were both widowed and found love in Jesus and each other.
I met Juanita while she was employed by the Advocates for Basic Legal Equality’s (ABLE’s) Long-Term Care Ombudsman. She lovingly assisted my father who was in the wrong nursing home for his illness. Juanita assisted my dad in finding the right home and continued to visit long past his transfer. She honored him until his last day as a friend and a WWII veteran. Of course, I was thrilled to be chosen to be their photographer and to be included in their family wedding.
The reception, in July 2017, was at the historic Hathaway House in Blissfield, MI. A lovely meal was enjoyed, then followed by conversation and comments from those who attended. The Hathaway House has a five star bakery that makes cakes and incredible homemade pies.
Love has no age, no rules or restrictions!
